BRAZIL: Centrist deputy to oversee passage of far-right priority bill
On 18 September the centre-right president of Brazil’s lower chamber of congress, Hugo Motta, appointed centrist legislator Paulo Pereira da Silva (Solidariedade) to oversee the passage of a fast-tracked bill proposing amnesty for the far-right rioters who ransacked the seats of government in Brasília on 8 January 2023.
